Wacky Tacky Traveler: Tales from the Road - Listen to my new travel show called the Wacky Tacky Traveler: Tales from the Road. The purpose is to bring fun back into travel. So much travel writing is about azure seas and and spectacular sunsets. But, to me, travel is about the story. The interesting and funny things that happen along the way. Like the time Jesus and I had something in common, when I stepped on a shark in Australia, or walking through Gatlinburg tasting moonshine when I happened upon chainsaw art -- do these two things go together? Perhaps not...I also love quirky museums like the salt and pepper museum (it was hideous and I loved it!) and the tow-truck museum that is definitely on my list. My four minute segment airs every other Tuesday at around noon on Troy State Pubic Radio which serves from Shelby County (just south of Birmingham) through Montgomery, AL (WTSU 89.9 MHz serving serving Montgomery and Troy), down through the Florida Panhandle (WRWA 88.7 MHz serving Dothan) and into Columbus, Georgia (WTJB 91.7 MHz serving Columbus, GA and Phenix City, AL). The show will soon be available to other NPR stations.
